Physical Activity
CCA Papua New Guinea supports the community in the area's of activity and community based programs.
In 2003 CCA supported the Sports Plus Tamioks Hockey Team who represented PNG in the South Pacific Games. In addition to playing professionally the team also holds clinics that are supported by CCA, to further develop the hockey skills of PNG's youth.
CCA have a close relationship with the Papua New Guinean Sports Commission and in 2004 are proud to have been able to sponsor the first PNG Sporting Calendar.
CCA also works at the grass roots level in developing PNG's future sports stars. SCRUM Puk-Puk Rugby is a program that coaches children aged 6-14 the skills of rugby. In 2003 the Puk-Puk Program reached over 2,000 children across PNG.
CCA also helps local sporting clubs through community sponsorships, which enable clubs to purchase uniforms and sporting equipment.
Community Event
CCA is proud to have been a major supporter of the Morobe Show for over 10 years. The Morobe Agricultural Show represents the largest single annual event in the Morobe Province and surrounding areas.
Every year the Morobe Show attracts over 100,000 people, from Morobe, the Highlands, and Madang Province.
The 2-day event includes many attractions, such as the popular Coca-Cola Amphitheatre, Show-rides, Agricultural Displays and over 200 performances from singing groups. |
