Performance

Coca-Cola Amatil is committed to accurately and transparently reporting our environmental performance across the group.

CCA's data collection forms the basis for identifying opportunities to improve performance. Operational data is collected at the plant level to enable specific areas for improvement to be identified and change to be implemented.

Aggregation of data to the country and group level has been restricted due to inconsistencies in site reporting. Currently this is being addressed with the objective of publicly reporting reliable data at a group level.

In 2006, CCA will publish its first standalone Corporate Social Responsibility Report, which will cover its operations in Australia, Pacific (New Zealand & Fiji), South Korea, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. As part of this reporting process, CCA will be collating detailed data from each country. This process will assist us in achieving our goal of consistent environmental reporting across all key CCA sites at both a group and country level.

Independent Survey Participation

CCA regularly participates in independent surveys, which assess CCA's commitment to environmental, social and community initiatives.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index was the first global index to track the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. The index assesses leading companies based on a set of economic, environmental and social criteria.

CCA has been included in the portfolio of sustainable companies since 2002. In 2005, CCA achieved an overall score of 63%, which represents an 8% increase on our 2004 result and is 10% above the average score achieved.

The index is prepared by Sustainability Asset Management (SAM). To find out more about SAM please visit their website.

Reporting

Each CCA country reports quarterly to the Board on environmental compliance and performance. In addition, detailed monthly management reporting is undertaken at each manufacturing site. Government reporting is also undertaken, as required. CCA also undertakes additional reporting on specific environmental initiatives, such as those listed below.

Greenhouse Challenge Plus

CCA (Aust) is a signatory to the Federal Government’s Greenhouse Challenge Plus Program. This a voluntary agreement formed by Federal Government and industry to abate greenhouse gases. To read CCA's annual Greenhouse Challenge Plus reports click here.

Carbon Disclosure Project

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) provides a secretariat for the world's largest institutional investor collaboration on the business implications of climate change. Through the CDP, many institutional investors collectively sign a single global request for disclosure of information on Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

In 2006, CCA Australia voluntarily participated in the CDP for the first time. CCA’s CDP report outlines the key issues and challenges CCA may face as a result of climate change and details measures we are taking to address these. To visit the CDP go to www.cdproject.net
