Yenda Beer takes GABS to new heights

Yenda Beer will this month take one of Australia’s biggest beer festivals to new heights.

Australian Beer Company, the brewer of Yenda Beer, has teamed up with the Great Australian Beer SpecTapular (GABS) and Brewmanity to construct a giant Ferris wheel inside the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton, Victoria.

Dubbed the Yenda Wheel of Beer, the creation will do more than entertain the 20,000-plus festival goers; through a partnership with Brewmanity, all proceeds from the Yenda Wheel of Beer ticket sales will go towards the Cure for MND Foundation.

Said Derek O’Donnell, General Manager of Australian Beer Company, “Like the festival, we’re all about enjoying beer in a fun way. We’re delighted our wheel has been embraced by such a range of fantastic brewers and also find it rewarding that, as a community, we can do all this whilst also making a difference for a worthy cause. A big thanks also to Steve and Guy from GABS and David at Brewmanity for making this happen.”

Founded in 2013, Brewmanity is a unique fundraising initiative set up to encourage craft breweries across Australia to be altruistic with their brews and donate a portion of funds to Cure for MND Foundation.

Australian Beer Company’s head brewer Andy Mitchell will be joined by a number of other well-respected craft brewers from Hawkers Beer, Wolf of the Willows, Stomping Ground (all Victoria), Batch Brewing (NSW) and Pirate Life (SA) making a series of guest appearances to treat lucky beer lovers to special mid-air private tasting sessions, giving them a truly memorable and educational beer experience.

Another of the festival’s highlights will be the extensive (and at times, outlandish) range of festival beers and ciders brewed exclusively for GABS 2016 and unveiled at the event by the impressive line up of Australian craft brewers. Australian Beer Company will be debuting its Wattle Seed Ale (ABV 6%), brewed with native Black Wattle Seed and delivering sweet hazelnut notes.

Since its inception in 2012, GABS has become a widely anticipated and revered festival, ranking in the top 20 beer festivals around the world.

Tens of thousands of beer enthusiasts are expected to attend this year’s events, which take place at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton from May 20-22 and at Sydney’s Australian Technology Park on May 27-28. Tickets are on sale now from
