Meet Clarke, Customer Service Manager

Our people are our greatest asset, and they each have a unique story to tell. Clarke Milner, Customer Service Manager shares his views on working for the Neverfail team at Amatil.

What is your favourite beverage and who would you share it with?

Now its Coca-Cola No Sugar with Orange. It tastes fantastic. I would share it with family and friends to show off our great flavours from Amatil.

Tell us about your career path before joining Coca-Cola Amatil?

When I was younger, I worked with McDonalds which was a great way to be introduced to the workforce. I then moved into the Logistics industry and joined Swire Cold Storage as a data entry clerk. After some time, I took an opportunity to try a warehouse role and eventually made it to Warehouse Team Leader. Working in a cold store during a Queensland summer had its advantages…

Why did you want to work with the team at Amatil?

I really enjoy the challenge of working in the Logistics industry and Amatil are experts in this space. I was looking to join a successful team of experts where I could learn and build a career. I often look back and feel thankful for what I have been able to learn on the job and opportunities it has provided. It hasn’t been easy, but very rewarding.

What does the Customer Service Manager role involve?

The role is responsible for leading the distribution of Neverfail Springwater in Queensland, working with over 35 delivery partners across the state. It is all about how I can support our team to be the best we can be and driving continuous improvement. We are focused on growth through continuous improvement of our customer’s experience.

How does Neverfail partner with the broader business?

The Neverfail team deliver Aussie spring water direct to the doors of homes and businesses across the nation. We also distribute some other Amatil-made products, such as Coca Cola, Grinders Coffee and Monster. Our team also works closely with the Amatil Vending team to offer many of our customers a single-supplier option.

What is the team’s area of focus for the next 12 months?

Growth. Our customers & consumers are at the heart of everything that we do, and we are focused on that. We want to deliver outstanding service that makes our customers job, or life easier.

Our People Pact represents the commitment made between Amatil and our employees. Which pillar of the People Pact resonates with you the most and why?

Lead and Inspire. Over my time with Coca-Cola Amatil, I’ve had plenty of support and patience from my managers. They have invested in me and fostered a culture of empowerment and responsibility. I believe that great leadership is critical to our success at Amatil and enjoy helping my team reach their potential.

What are your top three tips for being a positive role model at Amatil?
  • Be clear on the goal and focus on what is important
  • Keep a good work life balance and leave work on time when possible
  • Use positive reinforcement and recognition
How will you enjoy your next annual leave day?

I have recently discovered Bribie Island and can’t wait to go back. I would go with the kids and enjoy a Queensland winter.

What is your #onlyatamatil moment and why did it make a difference to you?

Recently I made a trip up to Cairns to meet a one of our drivers in trade. I drove out to meet him and was blown away by the landscape and the sites our drivers visit in a regional area. It turned out we would meet in the middle of a cane field on a dirt road. That was a first, and an #onlyatamatil moment for sure.
