Coca-Cola Amatil Wins in 2020 APCO Awards!

Coca-Cola Amatil WINS in the 2020 APCO Awards for Outstanding Achievement Award and Our Packaging Future Award

Coca-Cola Amatil WINS in 2020 APCO Awards for Outstanding Achievement Award and Our Packaging Future Award.

We're celebrating a proud and happy moment at Coca-Cola Amatil this week following our FutureWorks and Packaging Services Team winning the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation’s (APCO) ‘Outstanding Achievement’ and ‘Our Packaging Future – End Market’ Awards.

The annual APCO Awards ceremony recognises Australian organisations that are leading the way in sustainable packaging design and innovation. The APCO Awards celebrate the Australian industry’s commitment to delivering the 2025 National Packaging Targets and building a national circular economy approach to packaging.

Outstanding Achievement Award
Amatil received ‘The Outstanding Achievement Award’ for demonstrating exceptional commitment to Leadership, Sustainable Packaging Outcomes, and Sustainable Packaging Operations in the APCO Annual Reporting process.

Amatil was up against 10 other companies such as Panasonic, KeepCup and Kellogg Australia. The ground-breaking work of our FutureWorks and Packaging Services Division team in creating 7 out of 10 of our beverages packaged from 100% recycled plastic makes us a pioneer in sustainable packaging globally, and we believe, deserving of this award. Congratulations to all of the nominees.

Our Packaging Future Award
Amatil also received the honoured 'Our Packaging Future Award' at the 2020 APCO Awards. New in 2020, the Our Packaging Future Award highlights innovation and leadership from Members in sustainable packaging education (industry and consumer facing), improved collection and recycling systems, and end-market development.

Awards were self-nominated and finalists were selected after being assessed against three key pillars of innovation, accessibility and impact. Up against other finalists such as BioPak, Coles, THE ICONIC and Unilever, Amatil was celebrated as a world leader in sustainable packaging.

Members of our Packaging Services Division and FutureWorks Team attended and accepted the Virtual Awards. This team continues to be instrumental in making sustainable packaging innovation a reality at Amatil.
