At Coca-Cola Amatil volunteering is an important way our people and the company give back to the communities we love.
We’re celebrating Volunteering Week at Coca-Cola Amatil! Volunteering is an important way our people and the company give back to the communities we love.
Across Amatil we’ve supported over 140 community activities and given more than $6.2 million worth of donations – including money, product and our time. Our people at Amatil are full of generosity, connected to their communities, and they are always striving to give back. We’re glad we can help.
In Australia, our people receive one day of paid leave to be spent volunteering with a charity of their choice, allowing them the chance to give back to their local community without the feeling that they are compromising their professional work. We know this opportunity benefits the charity and our team, especially when our employees volunteer together.
In New Zealand, our employees are equally passionate. The team are well-recognised for donating their time to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal, helping with the Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park music festivals in Auckland and Christchurch, as well as participating in projects such as Loud Shirt Day for kids who are deaf, Double Denim Day for diversity and anti-bullying initiatives.
Our team in Indonesia have always been an incredible example of our commitment to volunteering. One example is their ongoing support for the ‘Bali Beach Clean Up’ an environmental protection and community clean-up project in Bali focused on reducing rubbish in Bali's coastal areas, strengthening Indonesia's tourism industry, and enhancing our relationship with the local community. The partnership has lasted for more than a decade.
Our team in Papua New Guinea are avid community members too. Their support includes; helping to raise funds for the Cheshire Home for persons with disabilities, clean-a-thons, and annual plant-a-tree campaigns every June to coincide with World Environment Day.
In Fiji, a yearly Coca-Cola Family Fun Day/Cleanup Campaign campaign spans across three main areas across the country. This campaign links with the local recycling program 'Mission Pacific' which is a Coca-Cola Australia Foundation initiative.
There are many ways that Amatil allows our employees to give back to their communities. What’s inspiring is that our people take advantage of the opportunity. So, this week we thank everyone who has dedicated their time to volunteering. We hope they – and others - continue to volunteer into the future creating even more millions of moments of happiness and possibilities.
