Protecting the natural beauty of Fiji’s land and marine environmental is critical to the region’s economy and way of life.
As one of the Pacific region’s leading beverages company, our Fiji-based Paradise Beverages business has a mission to recognised as the premier place to work, creating world-class beverages and making a positive contribution to the business and markets where it operates.
Protecting the natural beauty of Fiji’s land and marine environmental is critical to the region’s economy and way of life; Fijians are heavily reliant on the ocean for everything from food to employment and tourism income. This is why Paradise Beverages has been supporting the work of the Mamanuca Environment Society (MES) in protecting sea turtles since 2006.
Through its beer brand Vonu (Fijian for turtle), we’re proud to have provided the MES with ongoing financial support, taken part in education programs and helped promote awareness, through our people and our packaging and promotional material.
In 2018 Paradise Beverages took its relationship to the next level, signing a new corporate partnership that extends across all the Society’s important work in preserving both our land and marine environments.
So far, our support has helped the organisation work with many local resorts, businesses, communities and schools to actively engage thousands of locals and tourists in education and active volunteering programs, including coastal restoration through mangrove planting, community-based dry forest restoration, beach clean-ups and reef enrichment through coral planting.
Said Paradise Beverages General Manager Mike Spencer, “As a local company and one of Fiji’s largest employers, we absolutely recognise that Paradise and our people play a part in protecting the environment and the communities around us.
“The Fijian Islands are home to one of the world’s most outstanding tropical marine environments, with many of our species found nowhere else in the world. It’s this incredible diversity and natural beauty that puts Fiji on the map. It’s also a fundamental part of the identity and livelihood of most Fijians.”
