Environmental awareness is an aspect that has always been a part of Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI), a company that produces and distributes Coca-Cola products in Indonesia.

Environmental awareness is an aspect that has always been a part of Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI), a company that produces and distributes Coca-Cola products in Indonesia. So in commemoration of Earth Day 2013, which falls on this day, 22 April 2013, CCAI perform a series of actions concerning the environment in various locations throughout Indonesia such as Cibitung, Medan, and Bali. This action aims to continue improving environmental awareness on employees, and especially, society who lives around CCAI’s unit operations.
 
In Cibitung-Bekasi, CCAI Cibitung Factory implement the program of making 1,000 'biopori' in the area surrounding CCAI Cibitung Factory. This event was attended by Kepala BPLHD Kabupaten Bekasi, Bapak Ir. H. Entah Ismanto, Camat Cikarang Barat, Bapak Rahmat Atong, S.STP, MM, and kindergarten students from Al Ikhsan Tambun, as well as CCAI’s management and employees. Together, they made biopori holes and celebrating the 1000th  biopori holes which have been made in the area of CCAI Cibitung factory. "We support this Biopori program and hopefully, this event could raise awareness of each individual to be able to maintain the resources of our water," said Bapak. Ir. H. Entah Ismanto.
 
In Medan, CCAI along with 300 people consisting Camat, Lurah from kecamatan Medan Labuhan, Kepling, also  Medan Labuhan residents, held "Clean Up Day" on the protocol streets of Medan Labuhan. The participants also undertake green action by planting 100 trees along the main road of Medan Labuhan. With the existence of this program, Medan Labuhan is expected to become more shady and clean. M. Yusuf Rivai or known as Pak Uncu, community leaders of Martubung said, "I am proud to be part of a society that can live side by side in harmony with industrial residents who have a sense of social and environmental. Therefore, we would like to thank Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia."
 
Meanwhile in Bali, CCAI is committed to continue supporting R.O.L.E Foundation’s programs, a NGO (Non Government Organization) who supports education and environment issue. This cooperation has been running since 2010 and covers two main programs, namely training general knowledge and English to the the cleaning crew beach, and empowering women by giving them various training.
 
"On this 2013 Earth Day, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia feel very pleased that we could spread the message about awareness concerning the environment along with various government agencies and community around our unit operations which scattered throughout Nusantara. We are part of Indonesia society, then as a good corporate citizen, it has been our commitment to continue to integrate environmental and social responsibility in whatever we do," added Putri Silalahi, Media & Communications Manager CCAI.
