Cuci Tangan Hidup Sehat: CCAI and Sealed Air Collaboration with Community in 8 Operations

Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI) and Sealed Air initiated "Cuci Tangan Hidup Sehat" in 8 CCAI's operations area. Applying proper hand washing habit in daily life can prevent various disease such as coughs, colds, sore throat, and diarrhea. Through Cuci Tangan Hidup Sehat, CCAI and Sealed Air socialize the proper hand washing habits in Cibitung, Cikedokan, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Bali, Lampung, and Medan on 13-14 October 2016.

"While performing a proper hand washing sounds easy, but in reality, not many people have done it. Therefore, CCAI took the opportunity and collaborate with Sealed Air, one of our business partner who have the same spirit to grow together with the community, to create Cuci Tangan, Hidup Sehat initiative in 8 cities, simultaneously," says Kristy Nelwan, Head of Corporate Communications, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia. "In CCAI we believe that sustainability business related to  the well-being and prosperity of its customers, consumers, partners and communities everywhere we operate. Cuci Tangan Hidup Sehat is an ideal initiative, because not only we involve each and every key elements, but also deliver a simple yet effective message for all us all," she adds.

During the socialization, participants learn to wash hand through theory and practice guidelines. followed by some interesting activities such as interactive games and video screening. This initiative was participated by more than 400 participants consist of CCAI’s employee, CCAI’s plant surrounding school students, PKK members, Ikatan Bidan Indonesia (IBI) members, and Bali Beach Clean Up (BBCU) crew.

In Indonesia, proper hand washing socialization has been initiate since 2013, involving the whole Sealed Air employees and local community, targeting 20 socialization points each year," says Surendra Soni, Food Care Sales Director, Sealed Air, during the handwashing socialization activity in Cibitung, Thursday (13/10). Aside from Cuci Tangan Hidup Sehat, Sealed Air also promoted routine hand hygiene through Soap for Hope™, soap recycle program from hotel partners for the surrounding community.

Mohammad Hasan Ma’ruf, teacher from SDN Kepulungan 2, Gempol, Surabaya, express his appreciation towards CCAI and Sealed Air initiative. "Representing SDN Kepulungan 2, I am delightful to have our school as one of the hand washing socialization participants. Thank you CCAI and Sealed Air to enlighten our students about the importance to live healthy through hand washing. We hope there will be more similar initiative in the future," he says.
