Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI) shows its commitment to grow with community in area which we operate by handing over 50 guava trees to Martubung village residents, Medan Labuhan district on 24 May 2017. Through this donation, CCAI encourages the local community to start fruit farming which will bring long-term benefit for local people. Representing CCAI are Plant Operation Manager Medan Ilman Sabri and Corporate Affairs Executive Ahmad Nasoha. "Growing with community has always been our commitment since we started operating in Indonesia 25 years ago. After previous community-driven program such as Coke Kicks and City Clean Up, this time we aim to boost the local economy for community in surrounding Medan Plant by handing over fruit trees. We will assist the community through training for further development of this fruit farming." said Ilman. Showcasing our green initiative, all trees that were distributed were pre-planted on recycled drum package of Minute Maid Pulpy. The drums were also recreated as trash bins to be soon donated to several mosques in surrounding area. The event continues with brief training dan interactive Q&A. All attending participants are full of enthusiasm to know more about proper fruit planting method, pricing strategy, and possibility of fruit diversification.
