Hi Lisa, what is your favourite beverage and who would you share it with?
The Cascade range – particularly Soda Water served with Vodka and fresh lime on ice. This is my go-to drink when out with friends or winding down at home on a Friday night.
Tell us about your career path before joining Coca-Cola Amatil?
My career started in 2008 as a data entry clerk looking after Order Management in Hewlett Packard’s Global Parts Supply Chain team, while I was studying my Business degree, majoring in Operations and Logistics Management.
Initially being a young Asian female in a male dominated industry was tough. I was told to try something else as Logistics can be too harsh. I would laugh because they didn’t realise that I was born in a Vietnamese refugee camp and have overcome many challenges in my life. Plus, working in supply chain isn’t all about processes. I’ve learnt it can be both methodical and creative.
My first glimpse into fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) was when I joined Simplot Australia in 2010 as the Transport Coordinator. I was fascinated by the intricacies of its’ supply chain network. By the time I graduated in 2012 I was ready for a new adventure and moved into the world of Oil and Gas with BP Australia. The technical knowledge and skills required to manage, store, and transport these products safely was a completely different world and I’ve learnt to become much more appreciative for the people and processes involved in delivering these products. During my time at BP I was fortunate to work with engineers and safety officers as part of Brisbane’s BP Petrol station maintenance programs, sales, call centres, and planning teams to improve our key performance indicators and engage with third-party logistics, procurement and legal teams to draft up and be part of contract negotiations. A highlight was the opportunity to be part of BP’s Community Affairs team to create jobs in remote areas for indigenous people. After nearly five years, one internal promotion, and another relocation back to Sydney, I joined Coca-Cola Amatil in November 2016 as Sales & Territory Planning Manager.
Why did you want to work with the team at Amatil?
Most people recognise Amatil for its consumer brands like Coca-Cola and Mount Franklin. For me, Amatil is a leading FMCG manufacturing and distribution company with great opportunities to develop and learn. On top of that, friends who worked for Amatil would tell me about the focus on people, culture and development.
What does the Sales and Distribution Territory Manager role involve?
On some days, I work alongside the Sales Route to Market team to balance/re-work our sales rep’s workload or distribution deliveries. Other days I am working with project managers on modelling or trialling new processes or ideas, or creating reports in Tableau that can provide insight to help drive decisions across supply chain. The supply chain at Amatil is a diverse and interesting space.
How does the Supply Chain team partner with the broader business?
As a local manufacturer and distributor, it is important for Supply Chain to connect with every point of our business. For example, we work with Commercial and Finance to pay our drivers; Legal and Procurement to manage our contracts; IT – to manage and use our systems; and Sales – to service our customers.
What is the team’s area of focus for the next 12 months?
Our focus for the next 12 months is to achieve our Route to Market deliverables, execute the next phase of our Transport Management Systems plan and Tableau reporting for supply chain.

How will you enjoy your next annual leave day?
By sightseeing around Europe for three weeks including Paris, Italy, London and Finland to see the Northern Lights!
