Our people are our greatest asset, and they each have a unique story to tell. Beck Elliott, a National RED Consultant based in South Australia shares her views on working at Amatil.

Hi Beck, what is your favourite beverage and who would you share it with?

Would have to be a Roku Gin & Cascade Tonic with my husband on our back deck

Tell us about your career path before joining Coca-Cola Amatil?

Whilst completing my Bachelor of Business, majoring in HR & Marketing at Flinders University, I worked as a Merchandiser for Lindt Australia in Adelaide. I joined Lindt Australia full time as a Business Development Executive when I graduated.

Why did you want to work with the team at Amatil?

Coca-Cola Amatil offered me some wonderful opportunities to progress my career while remaining in my home town of Adelaide. Amatil have operated in South Australia for 60+ years and it is great to know they remain committed to growing the business in my home state.

I commenced with Amatil in 2012 as a Customer Service Representative, progressed through to working in Human Resources and I am now a Consultant with the National RED team. The experience has given me a deep understanding of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector from strategy development through to in-field execution.

I am grateful that at Amatil we are encouraged to think and act globally no matter the role. Many of my friends have felt the need to move interstate to broaden their career opportunities. It’s fantastic to be able to be a part of the National team based in South Australia where my family and friends are.

What does the role of the National RED Consultant involve?

My role supports the National RED team to ensure our Field Sales team have all the information they need to provide a great customer experience when selling our portfolio of beverages. I oversee recognition programs, information updates, national sales training and general communication flow between our state and national-based sales teams.

How does the RED team partner with the broader business?

The RED team are the pivot point between our customer-focussed Field Sales team and other parts of Amatil’s business functions.

It’s our responsibility to ensure everyone is aligned and our customers experience seamlessness. We’re also focussed on business outcomes, to ensure our operations are both effective and efficient. The right training is key to empowering our team to successfully deliver their plans, so we partner closely with our People & Culture team to ensure the right training is in place.

What is the team’s area of focus for the next 12 months?

Our focus for the next twelve months is firmly on building the best route to market function for the future of our business. Key to this success will be improving the capability of the team through training and new measurement metrics. This involves, for example segmenting our execution plans to ensure each of our customers are getting a tailored solution to help grow their business, by aligning and positioning the products that will deliver the highest value for the customer.

Our People Pact represents the commitment made between Amatil and our employees. Which pillar of the People Pact resonates with you the most and why?

Be our best. We all spend a considerable amount of our time at work, so it’s important to approach that with a positive attitude and do your best. I want to feel proud of what I achieve at work and how I contribute to my team.

What are your top three tips for being a positive role model at Amatil?

What is your #onlyatamatil moment and why did it make a difference to you?

Being a part of the National RED launch in 2015. This gave me the opportunity to visit the five capital cities around Australia over a five-week period where I worked closely with field sales teams. Our objectives were to showcase our selling tools and facilitate training.

How will you enjoy your next annual leave day?

My next annual leave day will be spent with my husband and little girl, and our next get away is a trip to Kangaroo Island with some friends. We can’t wait!

What is your favourite beverage and who would you share it with?

My everyday drink is Mount Franklin, but on the week end you will find me enjoying a Coors on the deck with my husband
