Amatil Wins Work & Life Award

The New Zealand Diversity Awards (formerly known as the Work & Life Awards) cover five categories. The Work & Life category celebrates initiatives that create opportunities for greater engagement and productivity.

Coca-Cola Amatil (NZ) Ltd won the Work and Life Award in the Equal Employment Opportunities Trust's Diversity Awards presented in Auckland on Friday, August 30.

The New Zealand Diversity Awards (formerly known as the Work & Life Awards) cover five categories. The Work & Life category celebrates initiatives that create opportunities for greater engagement and productivity.

Our award entry centred on safety and wellbeing initiatives which were started in 2012. Last year, to ensure safety and wellbeing was paramount, a preventative measure was introduced to ensure that every employee got home safely at the end of every day. Feedback was gathered and three key areas identified to help staff actively engage with the ZEROHARM brand and travel home safely. These were:

  1. Wellbeing
  2. Driver Safety
  3. Manual Handling (reducing work-related injuries).

EEO Chief Executive, Bev Cassidy-MacKenzie said: “The judges had a large number of entries to consider before coming to a decision about the winners. They were delighted to see Coca-Cola Amatil taking such an active part in the wellbeing of their staff, and their families. We are thrilled for you all and hope you will enter again next year, with another initiative. We wish you all the best for the future of your Zero Harm focus.”

General Manager HR, Martin King said: “This is a great result of many years of hard work in the business – it is awesome to see us being recognised for Taking the Lead – being number one when it counts!”
