Celebrating our second straight World Cup victory last Sunday, Coca-Cola 440ml cans are putting on the All Blacks jersey, marking the victory and celebrating the most successful sports team of all time.

“It was great timing,” said Natalie Dorn, Innovation and Strategic Projects Manager, “we brought our internal and external stakeholders together to bring a gem of an idea to life.”

Poised and waiting with bated breath Aurora and our Coke New Zealand team got the green light on the final whistle, rolling the cans onto the production line, swiftly shipping them nationally and hitting the shelves in time for the boy’s arrival home.

The project kicked into gear on Monday 2nd of November, with production of cans commencing on the 3rd and within a couple of hours of being delivered they were being filled to the brim with Coca-Cola. By the Wednesday the 4th we had made and dispatched 50,000 limited edition cans to all corners of the country.

“The plan was pushed out as quickly as possible to capitalise on the moment,” added Natalie, “it was a quick turnaround by everyone involved.”

Our Facebook post on Grand Final eve reached a whopping 6,000 likes and 1,000 comments, the most we’ve ever received, with such a huge demonstration of support it seemed only natural to make a special release of coke for such a special occasion.
