Powerade Challenge fuelling fitness in NZ

For the fifth year running, top sports drink brand, Powerade will be welcoming, locals from both Auckland and Wellington to compete, free of charge, in the Powerade Challenge, allowing Kiwis to outrun fitness ambitions.

For the fifth year running, top sports drink brand, Powerade will be welcoming, locals from both Auckland and Wellington to compete, free of charge, in the Powerade Challenge, allowing Kiwis to outrun fitness ambitions. Set to take place from October to December, athletes on whichever days they like can kick-off the challenge armed with their Powerade digital wristbands to track their progress.

“We have seen high levels of interests from runners,” said Jodie Timmins, Powerade Brand Manager NZ, “I believe this campaign will make 2015 one of the most successful, if not the most successful year we have seen yet.”

Powerade will be celebrating athletes and fitness this year with a live Leaderboard in Auckland. It will be monitoring, both, individuals and teams as well as announcing prize winners. Prizes on offer include All Blacks and BLACKCAPS jersey’s with, of course, plenty of Powerade and drinks giveaways.

The energetic campaign is set empower competitors to set, and expand, personal fitness goals, along with tracking the performance for both teams and individuals. It will also give them a ‘sneaky peak’ at what their closest rivals and competitors are up to.

“We look forward to seeing what people can achieve this year,” said Timmins.

Runners for Auckland’s course will be headed to Tamaki Drive to undertake the 9km route designed to be alike the 8km route in Wellington’s Queens Wharf.
