What has six wheels, over one hundred legs, a giant heart and is all the colours of the rainbow?

The answer is Coca-Cola’s float in this year’s Pride Parade.

The Coke Float will join fifty others in a colourful convoy along Ponsonby Rd in a parade which organisers promise will be bigger, brighter and more fun than ever before.

The Pride Parade is the highlight of the Auckland Pride Festival, a two week celebration from 5 – 21 February which celebrates and supports the Rainbow community.

The Coke Float will feature a giant rainbow heart dominating a flatbed truck where top international D J Dan Slater will be spinning his upbeat sounds.

Over sixty Coca-Cola staff will be on and around the float and will dance their way down Ponsonby Road to Western Park where the celebrations will continue.

Martin King, General Manager Human Resources says, “Diversity is a key part of CCANZ’s people strategy. Taking part in the Pride Parade demonstrates our commitment to celebrating and embracing difference. Like our float, the parade is great fun, totally inclusive and a place for people to gather and express themselves. This year our involvement has grown; more staff, a bigger float and an entertainer who’s huge on the international DJ scene.”

The Auckland Pride Parade will start at 6pm on Saturday 20th February and participating in the Pride Parade is a Coca-Cola NZ Community initiative.
