Coca-Cola Amatil NZ is proud to announce it has won the prestigious gold medal in the Employees category at the HRD Employer of Choice Awards.

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ (Amatil NZ) is proud to announce it has won the prestigious gold medal in the Employees category at the HRD Employer of Choice Awards. The awards reveal New Zealand’s top-ranking employers in terms of overall experience for employees.

This is the second consecutive year Amatil NZ has been recognised for its excellent results in key areas including work-life balance, health & wellbeing, career progression, recruitment, training & development and access to technology & resources.

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ is one of this country’s top performing companies when it comes to its people experiences, having received the Aon Best Employer for Australasia for the past four years in a row for highly engaged employees. Results will be out later this year on whether the business achieves its fifth consecutive year of outstanding high employee engagement recognition.

Managing Director, Chris Litchfield, says the recognition is very humbling as it’s our people that make our business so special and so successful.

“We set our business a challenge back in 2015, to create a 5-year plan to become one of the best bottlers in the world. We knew our people have the ability to both create and deliver on this, we just needed to give them the support and permission to do it” said Litchfield.

“Having our people so involved and empowered has helped us with our engagement scores and as leaders we are always focused on listening to our people right across our organisation. Their engagement is critical component of our success, they know our customers, our brands and our business better than anyone,” Litchfield said.

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ was also honoured to be one of the first companies in New Zealand to be accredited with the Rainbow Tick, 2020 is the sixth consecutive year Amatil NZ achieved this recognition.

GM of HR at Amatil NZ, Susan Lowe, is proud of the work the business does to embrace all aspects of people support.

“We want all of our people to be able to bring their whole selves to work, no matter what their sexual identity or orientation, their beliefs or ethnicity, we want to encourage positive amplification around being your true self as long as that involves being kind and embracing others,” said Lowe.

“This is also true of Gender; we were so proud to be one of the first organisations in New Zealand to be awarded the Gender Tick. We work hard to keep a gender balance across our business and ensure we hire and promote based on performance and try to keep the right balance across the gender spectrum,” Lowe says.

Coca-Cola Amatil achieved a very high 83% employee engagement in the last survey and they will continue to work hard to find even better solutions on its people journey. Being able to retain its current employees while looking for ways to attract the best talent into the business are crucial to its long-term objectives.

Constantly evolving and listening to its people are important attributes at Coca-Cola Amatil NZ in an ever-changing environment in an ever-changing world.
