Meet our Team in Papua New Guinea | Harold

Meet Harold, Business Development Representative from our Port Moresby team in Papua New Guinea. Harold joined our team in 2017.

Hi Harold,

Tell us about your educational background:
I completed my Primary School in 2009 in the Gabadi area of Kairuku Hiri District of Central Province. From there, I passed onto doing my grade 9 and 10 at Iarowari Provincial High School at Sogeri in the Hiri District, Central Province. I then passed my year 10 and continued on to year 11 at Kupiano Secondary School in Abau District of Central District. Eventually I completed my year 12 in 2013 and was selected to study Diploma in Tropical Agriculture at Sonoma Adventist College at Kokopo, East New Britain Province. However, due to personal reasons, I did not complete my education however I managed to apply out for jobs. I was then employed by Paradise Beverages Foods Limited. From there, I resigned to further my education hence attended IT Job Training Centre in Port Moresby which saw me graduate with Certificate in Business Accounting in 2017.

Tell us about your career journey:
I started my first sales career with WR carpenters and Estate as a Merchandiser in 2014 for 8 months. With these 8 months experience ,I then joined Paradise Food Limited  as a Merchandiser for a year and was promoted to a Sales Rep for another year until 2017 .Because I planned to further my studies, I resigned from my employment and attended my short studies  at IT Job Training  Centre in Port Moresby. I was then fortunate to join CCA PNG as a Merchandiser in 2017 when there was an opening. From there on, I took the opportunity with both hands to work as hard as I can which recently (2020) saw me being promoted to a Business Development Representative.

Why do you enjoy working for CCA?
I enjoy working for CCA because I have learnt a lot about business growth  which is a new thing to me when I started fresh with CCA and to my current role as a BDR ,I have been to places  where I have not being too by driving my an allocated  vehicle [TOT] which is an enjoyable moment of my life while working for CCA.

What’s your @Amatil Moment?
Being the Face of Amatil is the biggest achievement and a moment that I will never forget in my entire employment life with CCA PNG. That moment when I faced the camera – man while talking and explaining how the business grow and the brand recognition nationally and internationally.
I felt really proud as a brand ambassador as well as someone who is passionate about the brand hence I will never forget this Amatil moment if I moved on with my career journey.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
*Listening to music – if am bored
*Singing – I want to be a musician
*Reading Books - If no one to tell stories with
*Social Media – Especially Facebook

What one word best describes you and why?

Commitment - I am committed in my career journey ever since I first joined the Amatil business in 2017 as a merchandiser. And last and not the least it’s though a commitment and passion towards my employment life, I currently see myself taking up a new role as a Business Development Representative and that’s Commitment.
